Sweet new working world
Storck Administration, Berlin
The confectionery manufacturer Storck is planning to further develop its production site in Berlin. Including two existing buildings from the 1960s and 1970s, the first step is to create space for over 300 employees, some of whom are currently housed externally. Sehw has designed the new building as an L-shape with different storeys, which occupies the boundaries of the site in a striking way. The standard floor plans are strict in structure, open in design and flexible in use. The head of the building houses meeting rooms that can be interconnected for large events. The shell radiates understated elegance. The emphasis on the horizontal and the reduction to light-coloured aluminium storey bands and dark grey window frames create a dynamic structure. The roof becomes a green outdoor space for the employees.
