Student Housing
Hall of Residence, Nuremberg
The idea is a village in the city, the communal living of the residents in a loose community that enriches the togetherness and everyday life of the students. The design is laid out as an independent campus that consciously sets itself apart from its surroundings with its uniform architectural vocabulary and homogeneous typology. The buildings are designed in concrete cross-wall construction with prefabricated exterior walls in timber panel construction. This hybrid construction method ensures both the economic efficiency and adherence to the time schedule as well as a sustainable and innovative construction method. The central element alongside the architecture is the open spaces that integrate the buildings into its topography and connect them with each other. They assume different character traits, ranging from open courtyards with sun decks to learning terraces, quiet corners and roof terraces with urban gardening.
